Sonos - support for IFTTT

Sonos promised to open its API to third-party companies. The first result of this opening is the arrival of support for IFTTT although still in beta form. IFTTT is a platform that allows you to automate intelligent home devices such as locks, thermostats and lights, opening up a real sea of possibilities. Thanks to this innovation, Sonos products, like smart speakers, will be able to communicate with all other home automation devices that may be present in the home.

For example, users can have Sonos play their favourite radio station when they open their doors, or program their home lighting according to the music track being played. Although the support is still in the beta phase, the possibilities of use are very many.

In particular, the company specializing in audio products has highlighted the basic features supported today: play/pause of music, switching to the next/previous track and the volume controls of the playback.

In the future, integration with IFTTT will only improve with new possibilities that will be offered to users. Sonos, however, is working on several fronts. The company has promised that in the future many other advanced features will arrive for its customers, including integration with Google Assistant.

All owners of these smart music products can, therefore, begin to customize their user experience with these very special features that make the use of Sonos products much more fun.
